If you have an image that you think would work well with one of my artistic styles, I’d be happy to take a look. I accept a limited number of commissions in pastel, oil, acrylic, watercolor, and other media based on the subject and the kind of finished piece you have in mind.
Not every photograph makes a good painting, and not every subject is a good fit for the way I work. The first step is simply to send me your photograph and tell me a little about why it matters to you. I’ll review it and let you know whether I think we can create something wonderful from it.

Pricing & Timing
Original commissioned artwork begins at $500, plus materials and framing when applicable. Final pricing depends on the medium, size, complexity, and amount of creative development involved.
Please allow approximately 8–12 weeks for most commissioned pieces. Larger or more involved projects may require additional time.
Because commissioned artwork is personal and created specifically for you, we'll agree on the size, medium, price, and general artistic direction before I begin.

The Process
During our initial consultation, we'll review the photograph you've chosen as the basis for your artwork. We'll discuss any photo retouching that may be needed, the artistic style you'd like, and how I can enhance the image while retaining the details and personality that make the photograph special.
We'll also determine the finished size, printing option, and timeline. Please allow a minimum of 2 weeks for completion.
I personally create and refine each piece using Photoshop, manual digital retouching and painting techniques, with minimal use of AI when it can enhance the creative process.
You'll receive a digital proof for approval before your artwork is printed. One round of minor revisions is included.
Style Options
Impressionistic | Default Style
A colorful, painterly interpretation that captures light, atmosphere and movement while retaining the important details of the original photograph. Visible brushwork and enhanced color give the finished piece the feeling of a traditional painting.
Inspired by a Famous Painting or Artistic Style
Choose a favorite painting or artistic style as inspiration, and I'll create a custom interpretation of your photograph with that influence in mind. This option requires additional consultation to determine whether your photograph is well suited to the selected composition and style. Additional charges may apply depending on the complexity of the project.

Before Fahrside Studios became home to paintings, pastels, photography, and all the other things I enjoy creating, I spent more than forty years working professionally in graphic design, advertising, marketing, and web development.
I still enjoy putting that experience to work for the right project.
