Inspired by the cedar waxwing, her father’s favorite bird, Flourish of Flowers plays a little game of hide-and-seek between subject and surroundings. Two birds emerge from an exuberant field of loosely painted flowers, their shapes and colors blending into the impressionistic composition. The longer you look, the more the birds seem to materialize from the garden around them.
